I thought this was a weak year for music. I was gonna merge albums and EPs into one category and have a category for albums I newly heard from previous years. But then I started making the list and realized, this was a solid year. Dare I even say good. Especially for EPs! Who would’ve thought. The lists:

Normally I list my favorite mainstream songs of the year, but I was looking at the Billboard year-end chart and most of the songs were from 2024 or even earlier. And I hadn’t heard most of them anyway. So no list this year. The famous song from KPop Demon Hunters is pretty good, and I guess the Amber Mark song is kind of mainstream. So there’s that.
My favorite music video of the year was for Ninajirachi’s Infohazard.
