I hosted a second trivia night yesterday. This time it went more smoothly (i.e., did not last four hours). Congratulations to the winners, Team Miscellaneous!
One thing that helped it go more smoothly is that I printed out question sheets so I wouldn’t have to spend so much time reading questions (and trying to get people to quiet down so I could read the next one). They are really nicely typeset and they are below. Except for the music round cause it’s too hard to get into the pdf.
There was a special twist this time. For the seventh round, I pit the first place team against all the other teams combined. They guessed closer than the mega-team on 5/7 questions in the estimation showdown round, so they passed the ultimate test! Oh and it was Pi Day, so to declare an individual winner I gave each team member three minutes to learn as many digits of pi as they could. The winning score was 25—wow!
